Chance2Squash

Equal opportunity for sports without economic discrimination.

Squash is widely regarded as an elite sport and thus many children from humble backgrounds have not had access to play a sport that promotes discipline, focus, and constructive engagement amongst their peers and with others in other strata of society.

These children also miss out on the myriad positive outcomes known to be linked with regular exercise, including longer life expectancy, improved mental and physical health, and better grades in school that will help them to function responsibly and successfully in society in contexts requiring teamwork and resilience.

We want to change the conditions that exclude kids from humble backgrounds from gaining access to sports—in particular the elite sport of squash. With the right support, underprivileged kids can gain the skills they need to thrive as potential professional athletes. They can also uplift themselves beyond their economic limitations and safeguard their interests by  completing a secondary education that will enable them to pursue a prospective career outside sport.

Our Vision

Our goal is to nurture young talent at the grassroots level in India by giving the deprived an opportunity to channel their determination and develop a will to persevere until they can experience substantial results.

Our efforts include providing them with training free of cost and giving them an opportunity to transcend conditions of poverty and change their lives by relying on squash as the foundation for their holistic development rather than just for their physical health alone.

Help deprived, excluded, and vulnerable children who have the capacity to improve their lives by giving them the opportunity to become young adults, parents, and leaders who will bring lasting and positive changes to their communities.

Why help them?

Some of these children come from lower middle class families who earn just $350 on a monthly basis. Their tuition fees accounts for 25% of their families’ income and the schools they attend do not have sporting facilities. The parents earn their income doing basic daily wage work and cannot afford even living basics let along sports gear or training for their kids. Since a fuller educational experience is not affordable, it is virtually impossible for these kids to engage in any extracurricular activities. Other lower income families cannot even afford their kids’ tuition fees, and therefore are unable to educate their children, trapping them in the poverty cycle.

Who are we?

The Rolling Nicks Sports Foundation (RNSF) is a dedicated facility for growing the sport from the ground level. We provide all of the necessary elements of long-term athlete development including top coaching, dedicated court time, world-class fitness/training facilities and therapy/rehab services to the kids who does not have privilege of learning a sport.

Details of the Program

RNSF will recruit young squash players from middle class backgrounds as well as experts to assist in making this program a success. The program is divided into the following stages:

Stage 1– The expert team will visit schools and NGOs and run a talent hunt test. Our target is to evaluate more than 50 kids and shortlist 30 kids.

Stage 2– The shortlisted kids will be trained to go through the second test. This test will take place at our center. This is the biggest Public Squash Court Center in Maharashtra.

Stage 3 -The  selected kids will be given a chance to train on regular basis.

(The tests will be repeated every 6 months to absorb new players).

We invite you to be a part of Chance2Squash program that will create opportunity for kids at grassroot level.
